Attend a Monthly Educational Meeting

Meetings are held on the third Thursday of each month in the Madison area.  Meeting topics and locations are posted on this website, on the Google Group and our Facebook page.  Each meeting starts at 6:30pm with a potluck, then at 7:00 the main event starts.

Our Google group includes posts of area permaculture related events, our meetings and educational workshops and conversations about permie related topics.  You are able to post to the group and see what is happening in the group.  You can set it up to receive an e-mail of each post as it is posted or a daily or weekly digest.  This is our most active area with about 400 people in the group!

Herb Collective Project

Interested in herbs and how they are grown and what they are used for both for food and medicine?  The Herb Collective Project may be for you!  The 100 foot by 30 foot herb gardens are hosted at Token Creek Eco-Inn on the north side of Madison where the Guild grows a wide variety of herbs.  The group meets every other week during the growing season.  At each meeting we have someone present on a particular herb or process and learn together.  We share in the harvest of the herbs that are grown and divide plants to share out too.

For example, we met in June and started our meeting off with a speaker on St. John’s wort.  We learned about growing conditions (wild and cultivated), when to harvest it, how to tincture it and how to use it for your health.  At our meeting we even tinctured the herb and sent everyone home with some!
