January 21, 2016 MAPG Meeting

DIY Fun with Herbs

Kate Heiber-Cobb will lead us in making either a body/massage oil (using essential oils) or an herbal tincture for you to take home with you.  Please bring any bulk herbs, 4 oz. bottles and jars you may have and small funnels you may have.

We will do some basics on what a tincture is, what essential oils are and what carrier oils are.  We will have sweet almond oil and grape seed oil available for the body/massage/bath oil and vodka to make the tinctures with.  There will be handouts on these topics including how the essential oils are used in aromatherapy.

6:30 – 7:15 pm:  Potluck or conversation time.  Please bring something to share and we appreciate you bringing your own silver and plates, though we do have some extra to use.

7:15 – 7:40 pm:  Kate shares some basic information on tonight’s topic.

7:40 – 8 :20 pm:  We make oils and tinctures

8:20 – 8:30 pm:  Clean-up

First Congregational Church:  1609 University Ave, Madison, WI 53726

We will be meeting at the First Congregational Church at the corner of Breeze Terrace & OId University in the Fellowship Hall in the basement.  Please park in the back.  There is a parking lot immediately behind the church and also across the street diagonally.  There is an elevator at that door so it is accessible to all.

These meetings are open to the public and kids are always welcome.
