Join us for a party to put the Permaculture Guild’s Herb Collective garden to bed for the season! Food and fun this Saturday, 10/4, 10am -2pm.
Are you interested in drainage? We need help improving the swale from the driveway through the garden. Math will bring what we need & supervise the work. All you need to do is provide the labor.
Want to know how to sheet mulch? We’re nuking the rampant mints and mugworts so we can start over in the spring. We’ll be covering that part of the garden with cardboard and newspaper and wood chips.
If we don’t harvest the roots this week, there will be valerian and echinacea to harvest anyone can take some home. (and you can take anise hyssop plants, most likely).
If you have them, please bring tools for moving mulch (pitch fork, big shovel, wheel barrow–we have one, but a 2nd one would be helpful).
Garden gloves would be good, as well as water and bug spray (likely we won’t have many or any bugs).
We’ll provide lunch – please bring a water bottle.
This should be a fun activity.

Take the Windsor Road exit off Hwy 51, and drive about a mile. Turn left onto Portage Rd. Drive about 1/2 mile. Just before you get to Gray Road, turn onto the grass “driveway” (just past the pine trees). Please do not park in the Eco-Inn asphalt driveway.
